i only want to be able to create chapters and put a pic and song int he backround of a menu. nothing fancy at all.
i have never dealt with iso and would like to keep it that way. i would just like to click and drag files that i download from boot sites and drop them in the software, create chapt., edit menu and then burn. nero made it simple but too much bs with it.
i have heard good things about imgburn. is it easy like i stated above?

IMGBurn is nothing like Nero or any other software that allows you to create chapters and menus. It just writes, reads or builds ISO images of whatever you want.
Like I said, for basic authoring the way you mentioned, TMPEG DVD Author should be the easiest apart from Nero, but still it is not drag&drop. If you want no or close to no work at all, you might really try and un- and re-install Nero first. What version are/were you using? Maybe going back in time and using a version before or including 6.6.0.6 might help, since from there it got REALLY buggy.
